| | The Team | |
| The Roller Hockey Travel Team of Virginia Tech was founded in the fall of 1997 and officially became a member organization of the Eastern Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (ECRHA) in 1998. The Virginia Tech Hokies participated in the ECRHA as a Division I school for 7 years until the 2005-2006 season. This year was utilized as a transitional season, and the Hokies became an affiliate team of the Southeastern Collegiate Roller Hockey League (SECRHL). Virginia Tech is now an official Division I team with the SECRHL. |
| The team travels to play in tournaments in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia from October to March. The team previously practiced at a privately owned sport court facility in Roanoke called Rising Star Sports, but it has recently been torn down. The team's new practice facility is a wooden rink in Roanoke called Star City Roller Rink. |

| | The League | |
| The SECRHL is comprised of Colleges and Universities from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. The league is divided into Division I, Division II, and Division III (Community College) teams. Institutions can also field a 'B' team which has its own respective division. A regional playoff tournament is held in March to crown the SECRHL champion in each division. The National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA), which oversees all collegiate regions in the country, then invites the winners of each region and other selected teams to a national tournament later in the Spring. |
